TECHNOLOGY IN EVOLUTION

STM is born in 1981 and concentrates from the beginning on precision mechanics working, producing robotics components and measuring instruments.



During the ‘90s it begins its successful bid in the two-wheeled field by developing special components for bicycles.



This intuitive decision helps defining the STM identity more precisely and marks the first great change in the history of the company. Some time later, the prototype for the future slipper clutch is created, forever changing the motorcycling history and insuring the worldwide success of the firm.



The slipper clutch is first used on Ducati motorcycles during competitions, soon contributing to the victory of two Superbike world titles.



The technology tested in races is then transferred onto the production motorcycles and STM starts producing slipper clutches. Thanks to the know-how and the long experience in designing and producing high quality components, the firm quickly becomes the market leader.



The slipper clutch era has begun.



The year 2003 is the fundamental turning point in the STM history.The experimentation carried out in STM reaches a very important result: the Evoluzione technology is for the fist time applied to wet clutch systems on Japanese motorcycles, widely broadening its possibilities of use.



At this point the STM involvement in competitionsintensifies considerably and is crowned with extraordinary successes in the various classes.



In Superbike the cooperation with the Suzuki and Yamaha teams allows the tuning of two innovative products which unite perfection of operation and total reliability. STM also debuts in Motocross and Supermotard meeting with a unanimous approval and contributing to the victory in many races.



From the traditional slipper clutch series for Ducati motorcycles and its respective accessories to the new Evoluzione models for road and off-road motorbikes, STM offers a particularly broad range of products in constant development which can satisfy the requirements of the growing number of riders.



Created and tested on the competition field,all components are designed with the best technologies and manufactured with the most advanced CNC machinery. The Evoluzione clutches also stand out for their technologic and highly innovative design: shaped by their own function to essential lines, they are precious objects, expression of the most modern Italian design.
